Meet Gertie

Gertrude Lythgoe, known as Gertie, built her reputation as the ‘Queen of the Bootleggers, during Prohibition.

Her modus operandi?

Bringing good booze to the people.

Gertie made her mark bringing high-quality Scotch whisky brands to a thirsty America via the Bahamas… She went to sea with the most famous of rum runners, Captain William F. McCoy and she made sure that the brands she represented made it into the right hands.

We kind of do the same. Just with fewer pirates and sea sickness.

Gertie’s Manifesto

Prohibition might have been a century ago,
yet getting to market hasn’t gotten any easier.

High cost of entry in the on-trade, low margins in the off-trade, disinterested wholesalers, time-poor distributors, promotion-driven grocers, lackluster field sales teams, apathetic bartenders … Ugh. No thanks.

We’d rather take on the pirates. Luckily we’ve got our own smuggling racket. Amazon.

Just like Gertie, our job is to get your liquid into the glasses of the people who care. Unlike Gertie, we don’t have to go to sea to do it. These days our route to market hack is Amazon.
